Super Solar Powered Train (Mail-in Entry)

​ 2022 Official Rules

Goal: To design the fastest Solar Powered Train
​

Specifications:
Train length must be 12" long (+/- 1”)
Train Width must be 3"(+/- 1")
Train Height must be 3" (+/-1")

Train must hold a Load(50 cents - roll of pennies)
Train must use any DC motor (4 motors max)
Train frame must have an attached cover measured to the dimensions above.*Plastic vacuum formed body is suggested, but other materials are allowed.


Submit Entry between June 1-5, 2022

Judging Procedure:
Trains will race against their opponent in tournament drag-race style with single elimination. A USSSC custom built Solar Power Panel using Pitsco Ray Catcher Solar Panels will provide at least 15 volts of equal DC power to each Pitsco racetrack. Judges will place trains on the start line. A sunblocking board will be removed from the Solar Panel allowing the tracks to be live. Train that crosses the finish line will advance to the next round. The fastest train that wins the final round will be awarded Division Winner.
